Corsair H50 CPU Cooler

My Corsair H50 CPU Cooler Experience

Starting up the computer went well and after a bit of bubbling and spluttering from the H50 I noticed the whole thing was significantly quieter than previously, everything was installed correctly and there were no leaks, here are the temperature results, before and after:

Before temps using the OCZ Vendetta 2 with Arctic Silver 5:

Core idle temp with Vendetta 2
Core idle temp with Vendetta 2
Core load temp with Vendetta 2
Core load temp with Vendetta 2

After temps using Corsair H50 with Arctic Cooling MX-3:

Core idle temp with H50
Core idle temp with H50
Core load temp with H50
Core load temp with H50

As you can see there was some improvement and my idle temps are finally down to a reasonable amount, my graphics card core temp is also down a significant amount.

Since I installed the H50 I have also overclocked my CPU to 3.48Ghz and it is rock solid with +5C temps on idle and load, it certainly has a powerful cooling ability and if you have air conditioning in your home it helps a great deal as it is highly dependent on the ambient temperature of your room, my next post will hopefully be about installing 2 HR-03 Plus graphics card coolers in SLi effectively provided I can still find one around.

Update 31/12/2009: I have recently replaced the Corsair fan that comes with the kit with the fan that comes with the OCZ Vendetta 2 as it is theoretically more powerful, my temps @ 3.62Ghz are as follows:

Core Temps @ 3.6Ghz 1.2v Idle
Core Temps @ 3.6Ghz 1.2v Idle
Core Temps @ 3.6Ghz 1.2v Load
Core Temps @ 3.6Ghz 1.2v Load

As you can see they are almost the same temps that I got at stock speed/voltage and 20C of temp difference between idle and load at that speed is pretty amazing
